MCP is a community-based, 1-to-1 mentoring program for Spokane County youth ages 4-18 that are affected by parental incarceration. MCP recruits, screens, trains, and supports volunteers who want to have a positive impact in the life of a child.

MCP stands for Mentoring Children of Promise and is based on the Amachi program started by Rev. Goode in Philadelphia, PA.  Amachi is a Nigerian Ibo word that means "who knows but what God has brought us through this child."

What is MCP?

MCP is administered by

Kids need support and encouragement from caring adults, in school, at home, and for life in general.  That’s why the MCP slogan is...

“Friends.  For.  Life.”

And it's not just the slogan, it's the mission. MCP wants to create relationships that grow to be so much bigger than a mentoring program. MCP helps build real friendships that last.
